Just watched the most anticipated game of this year’s World Cup – The Netherlands vs Spain.. a repeat of the 2010 World Cup Final… where Holland was robbed.
The game began with a total BS call by the ref on a really bad dive by a Spanish player, against Holland.. resulting in a penalty kick which scored.. Umm, yes.. the refs need to watch instant replay at the World Cup! … just saying…
Thank goodness for Van Persie who scored off a header…. for Holland before the break.. What a beautiful shot!
Then as the match resumed, with second half play, it began to pour.
Minutes later, a second goal for Holland…. Arjen Robben.
Another bad call came by the ref for NOT sending the Spanish player off the field after the ‘act of aggression’ when the Spaniard head butted the Dutch player.. I was not impressed. Hopefully the organization revisits that illegal move and bans that player for the rest of the World Cup 2014.
Then came a third goal for the Netherlands.. Stefan de Vrij.
Then a fourth goal… Robbin van Persie. Yes, that made four goals in twenty-eight minutes! 🙂
Then a fifth goal… Arjen Robbin.
They were sooooo close to getting that sixth goal.. twice.. It was almost hard to watch.
Next was a really dirty body check from behind, from a running Spanish player against a Dutch player who just standing there with his back to him. Huh?
Final analogy: The Netherlands just proved that they were robbed four years ago.. and the Spaniards are really bad actors.. 😉
FINAL SCORE: Netherlands 5 – 1 Spain
