Tart Treats!

Big Camera 104revised

I LOVE Macarons! I was craving them so I decided to make a batch of yummy Orange Macaron cookie shells filled with Orange Cream. It’s like eating a creamsicle in the form of a macaron. Yum!

I will admit that there is a lot of work that goes into making this particular Macaron, so I made a little extra filling for an experiment. And what was that Experiment? An Orange Cream Tart!

What an amazing pairing! Just imagine… the orange-y tartness of the Orange Cream combined with the subtle graham shell, topped with a dollop of fresh whipped cream. Heavenly! πŸ˜‰

Peanut Butter Tart

In yesterday’s Chocolate Desserts class we made a Peanut Butter Tart. Ooooh Yummy Yummy Yummy! πŸ˜€

A classic North American flavour combination, this dessert can easily be made into single servings, or be served in shot glasses without the shell/crust. It is made of layer upon delicious layer, starting at the bottom with a sweet paste shell. Then whole peanuts, a a yummy thick layer of caramel. Next you add fluffy clouds of peanut butter pastry cream piled high. Then topped off with a white chantilly in the centre of the tart. Lastly, sprinkle Β peanuts and chocolate curls on top. Fabulous!
